Welcome Karli Ritter!
Thank you Karli Ritter for being our Emcee for the 4th annual Night of Independence Awards! We are so excited that you will lead us in the mystery, illusion and magic of the evening which will honor individuals and organizations that are working to further The Whole Person's mission to assist people with disabilities to live independently.
Karli Ritter joined FOX4 in March of 2007 and forecasts for FOX4 News from 5:00-9:00 a.m. and FOX4 News at Noon. Karli’s passion for weather started at a young age while she was growing up in central Florida. In between the afternoon thunderstorms, she would often track every hurricane in the Atlantic Ocean on her own personal tracking map. Then she saw a waterspout in the Florida Keys…she was hooked! Her passion led her from central Florida to the panhandle, where she studied at Florida State University. While there, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology. During her time at FSU, her involvement with a student-run weather show started her on the path to becoming a television meteorologist. After graduation, she worked in Sarasota, Fla, and Montgomery, Ala.
Since moving to Kansas City, Karli has become involved with many charities around town including Heroes for Hospice, which she co-founded. She also earned her Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seal in November 2007 from the American Meteorological Society. She recently become involved with Girls on the Run again, now serving as secretary of the board after several years of coaching. Karli enjoys storm chasing but has scaled back now that she has a daughter and son to chase instead.
When she’s not in the FOX4 Weather Center, Karli enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, cooking, yoga, running (three marathons and counting!), spending time on a boat and playing or watching any sport. Karli, her husband, daughter and son are so happy to call this part of the country home.
